Local Land and Property Gazetteer
Last Updated: 3 April 2024
Local authorities are responsible for maintaining an official database of all address information for their area. This database is known as the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG), and most services depend on its accuracy. The LLPG contains a variety of information on residential and commercial properties such as the:
- Unique Property Reference Number (UPRN)
- location
- official address
- Royal Mail's reference
- election's reference
- council tax or business rates information
Daily updates are sent to GeoPlace as part of the Data Co-operation Agreement. Organisations use this data to provide a quality service, such as emergency services, delivery companies, National Health Service and Office for National Statistics. It is therefore crucial that the LLPG is accurate and updated regularly.
